Applying DIY Micro Ring Hair Extensions
  1. Section your hair with a comb making a straight, clean line. Clip up the rest of your hair.
  2. Starting from approx. 2 cm in from the hair line, take a small section of your hair and twist it.
  3. Pick up a Secret Loop strand and place your natural hair through the plastic loop.
  4. Holding the hair extension by the micro ring at the top, slowly and carefully pull the plastic loop from the bottom until your hair is threaded through the micro ring. Keep the plastic loops to re-use the loop hair in the future or you can purchase a Secret Locks loop threader.
  5. Push the extension up, making sure you are 1cm away from the scalp (if you are too close the extensions will not sit flat and fall naturally). Clamp the micro ring with your hair pliers firmly.
  6. After completing the entire row, unclip your hair and make another section a little above the first. Clip up your hair, and complete the second row making sure you stay 2 cm in from your hair line. This ensures that you have enough of your natural hair to cover and hide the micro rings and also allows you to tie your hair up without the micro rings being visible. You also need to stay 2cm in from where you normally part your hair at the top of your head.
  7. Continue sectioning your hair and inserting your extensions until you have the volume and the look you want to achieve.
  8. You may also apply your Secret Locks Loop Extensions randomly for highlights.
Applying Clip-In Hair Extension Sets
  1. Part your hair horizontally about 1 inch above the nape of your neck. Clip up the remaining natural hair. Slightly tease your hair near the roots at the part line you created. Align your 6” weft along the part line, securing the centre clip first, followed by the left and right clip making sure weft is lying flat on your head.
  2. Release you’re clipped up natural hair. Make your next horizontal part just above your 6” weft. Clip up your remaining natural hair.
  3. Align your 7” weft along the part line, securing the centre clip first, followed by the left and right clip making sure it is flat on your head also.
  4. Follow step two to apply your 8” weft which should be placed slightly above the 7” weft.
  5. Follow step two to apply your second 6” weft which is placed above the 8” weft.
  6. Make a horizontal part on the side of your head to apply your 1.15” weft. Follow step 2 to apply your 1.15” piece.
  7. Apply your second 1.15” weft on the other side of your head using the same process as the first.
  8. The 3” wefts should be placed directly above the 1.15” wefts on the sides of your head. These pieces are designated to frame your face. To remove your clip-ins simply snap open your clips and lift away from your natural hair. If you try to remove your clips without opening, you may damage your natural hair.
